Ran Eliran - Ran Eliran - 1969 - Israel - '70s Pop/Rock
Ran Eliran (a.k.a Ron Eliran- born as Menachem Lazerovitch) started - as many israeli singer - in a militery Group - "Tzevet Havay Nachal".In 1958 he founded with Nechama Hendel The Dou "Ran & Nama" for the "Ed Sullivan Show", they did mainly folk songs and tour USA for some time. Ran Eliran was studied cinema and return to Israel for a big career in israeli music. In this album he collaborate with Zohar Levi & his Group "Zohar Hashvi'i " for 2 songs (the rockiest in the album): "Esh Babika" (T-09) & "Yesharot" (T-06) .As many israeli album at that era this album also contain covers for other songs. "Ani Shelach" (T-01) is a cover for Gilbert Becaud's song, "Baderech Leeyn Gedi" (T0-2) is a cover to Glen Campbell's "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" and "Ashmoret Shlishit" (T-05) is a cover to Herman's Hermits' "There' A Kind Of Hush (All Over The World)".
